Primary sleeping disorders

Except the conditions, which are mentioned above, there are also some other, associating with sleeping problems, provided that there are no underlying insomnia conditions involved. They include sleeping disorders and these conditions are called primary. Primary sleeping disorders are disorders, which are the main reason for insomnia occurrence. These conditions, being not treated, may consequently lead to long-term and chronic insomnia. Such conditions are:
- Idiopathic insomnia. Such kind of insomnia starts as early as in the childhood and last lifelong.
- Restless leg syndrome. It happens when a person feels creeping in legs during sleep. The situation can be improved by moving legs.
- Central sleep apnea. It is a complex condition. It may identify both insomnia and other health problem, like heart failure, low oxygen level, conditions connected with high altitude and brain injuries.
- Circadian rhythm disorder. The problem is associated with some disturbances of the biological clock, Connected with unusual sleeping timing. For example, it may occur when a person goes to sleep late and wakes up late, and vice versa.
- Inappropriate sleep hygiene (bad sleeping habits).
- Periodic leg movement disorder. It happens when a person frequently moves limbs while sleeping.
- Insufficient sleep syndrome. In this case sleeplessness is caused by different environmental situations, influencing sleep quality. This situation may include bright light in the room, too high or too low temperature or excessive noise.
